A recent agreement with GNC has allowed California CBD maker CV Sciences to add 770 new locations to its nationwide product distribution network.
It’s a big step forward for CV Sciences as part of its expansion strategy. Per the agreement, consumers will start seeing CV Science’s +PlusCBD ingestible products on the shelves of their local GNC stores across the country.
Joseph Dowling, CEO of CV Sciences believes this new partnership with GNC is “a major milestone” for CV Sciences.
Dowling also noted that “This agreement is also a positive reflection of the favorable regulatory momentum that is starting to build following the recent passage of AB 45 in California, which should serve as a framework for responsible CBD legislation in other states and eventually at the federal level,”
CV Sciences trades in the OTC markets under the symbol CVSI. It should be of no surprise that on the heels of this new partnership with GNC the stock price has also seen an increase in recent days.
CV Sciences is not a stranger to securing partnerships with major US retailers. Distribution of its products can also be found in Kroger, CVS, Harris Teeter, and The Vitamin Shoppe.
What Could This Mean for CBD?
This is obviously important news for GNC and especially for CV Sciences. But we wonder if it could also give us some foresight into the direction of CBD in the future.
CV Sciences CEO Joseph Dowling made reference to ‘favorable regulatory momentum that is starting to build’. He was specifically referring to California but we believe we will start to see more acceptance of CBD on a national level as well.
In any case, it’s a step in the right direction for CV Sciences, but also for CBD. Adding these CBD products into a mainstream and trusted source such as GNC can only help CBD. It not only makes people more aware of CBD but also associates CBD products with another icon in the health and fitness space such as GNC.
It seems like that in itself should only lead to bigger and better things for CBD.
