Canadian Hemp Company Names Former Public Official as President

  • A Canadian hemp company has named Amrik Virk, a former politician, as its new President.
  • Mr. Virk has several years of experience working in the Canadian government and has served as director in several different public and private organizations.
  • Along with taking over as President, Virk will also serve on the company’s board.

Sweet Earth Holdings Corp., a Canadian hemp company, has named former public official Amrik Virk as its new president. Virk will also be joining the board of Sweet Earth.

Virk, who previously worked in senior positions in the Canadian government, served as the Minister of Advanced Education and Minister of Technology and Innovation in British Columbia. Prior to those positions, Virk served 26 years as a senior officer with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Peter Espig, CEO and Director of Sweet Earth Holdings, stated in a news release:

“Mr. Virk is a natural fit to Sweeth Earth and knows our team very well. As a board member he will augment corporate governance and as president he will assume key management responsibilities.”
