  • Charlotte’s Web (CWBHF) has hired its new chief operating officer.
  • The former chief operating officer, Stephen Lermer, left the company at the end of January.
  • The new COO, David Panter, will oversee the company’s brand new facility.

Charlotte’s Web, a Colorado-based CBD maker, has announced their selection for the role of their new chief operating officer. David Panter, who has over 20 years of experience in the “global supply chain,” will assume the position, effective Monday, March 30th.

Panter will be directly reporting to the company’s CEO, Deanie Elsner, who highly advocated for Panter, stating:

“David’s proven track record in global supply chain optimization and operational excellence across multiple industries makes him a valuable and timely addition to our top-tier management team.”

Elsner feels that Panter “is a natural fit for Charlotte’s Web” as the company attempts to map out its global strategy for international expansion.

Panter has also conducted business with companies such as Campbell Soup Co., Tyco Healthcare/Covidien, and Estee Lauder Company. He will now be overseeing Charlotte’s Webs’ new 137,000 sq. ft. facility that will handle manufacturing and distribution. Their roles will include, but are not limited to:

  • Extraction
  • Production
  • Supply Planning
  • Quality Engineering
  • Customer Fulfillment Operations

Charlotte’s Webs’ previous chief operating officer, Stephen Lermer, left the company on January 31st of this year after taking over the position exactly one year prior. It was reported that Lermer decided to leave the company in order to pursue opportunities in Central America, where his home region is located.

Last quarter, Charlotte’s Web Holdings plummeted by 688% compared to where they were in 2018, with a reported loss of $18.8 million.

The Boulder company released a statement this week detailing their decision.

Conclusion

Charlotte’s Web is the leader in the market for the production and distribution of hemp-derived CBD products, with their products being sold online, through distributors, and through retailers. Despite their recent reported losses, their new chief operating officer David Panter provides a lot of experience that can be helpful for steering them in the right direction.

Charlotte’s Web currently sells CBD oils, capsules, topicals, and pet products.
